DON TEO 72 Traditional
Maybe you’ve seen her. A 72-foot, sleek, custom sportfish with wrap-around enclosed flybridge, and smooth, flowing lines. Full tuna tower and teak cockpit and toe rail. A work of art that’s also fast. The Don Teo started out as a dream. A desire by a man who had fished hard for many years who saw the need for what would be close to the “perfect boat." A sportfish that drew little water, cruised at least 30 knots, and had incredible range.
For a boat of its size and weight, the DON TEO is amazingly fast, once again the norm for all American Custom Yachts. The 2000 series 16v92 Detroit/MTU’s give her a top speed of 36 knots. The engine room is monstrous, big enough for a party, and a separate pump room holds two watermakers, a fuel centrifuge, washer and dryer, full stand-up freezer, and a chill-air A/C system with a complete back-up. The fuel tanks hold a total of 2700 gallons. Nowhere is too far.

The bridge is the realization of a captain's dream. Two large display screens interfaced with the latest electronics by Northstar, Nobletec, Robertson, and a seriously accurate Computank system that eliminates all guessing. The two helm chairs belong inside the cockpit of a large jetliner. The air is cool, the interior always dry, and the stereo cranks. A powerful, maneuverable camera system and display allows a constant or rotating view of engine and pump rooms.
If the bridge is the captain’s dream, the cockpit was designed for the mate. Massive bait freezer, refrigerated bait station, eskimo ice chipper and a massive, refrigerated fish box. Ample tackle storage and in general, a deck that gives new meaning to the term “dancefloor." The teak transom only finishes it off with the perfection that American Custom Yachts insists upon. Oh yeah, the interior is pretty cool, too. Marble, birdseye maple, Oriental accents. All that stuff.
